The officials of Microsoft have announced the next version for Office client. i.e. ‘Office 2019’, at the Ignite IT Pro conference held in the Orlando on 26th September. As According to a blog posted by the company, the public preview version of this latest advanced update will be offered by mid of 2018. Microsoft refers as ‘perpetual client release’ to this new version of Office.
Microsoft’s marketing director of Office 365 ecosystem, Rob Howard and the company’s general manager of Office, Jared Spataro explained in the Ignite IT Pro conference, that the Excel will now be more understanding about the user’s input and also it will pull extra information if necessary, from internet.
Jared Spataro said while explaining the details, “We’re pleased to introduce new data types. That doesn’t sound all that interesting and we had this interesting discussion about what we’d name these things, but at the end of the day we realized that if you’re really an Excel wonk, the thing that you’re going to get is that there’s new data types.”
Spataro added that, “Historically, Excel has always been good at numbers and you can enter in text and use conditional formatting and things like that. We are adding the idea that Excel can now recognize data types that are richer than those two.”
This new ‘perpetual client release’ of Microsoft Office will be including the Excel, Word, Outlook updates and PowerPoint along with the new versions of Skype, SharePoint and Exchange for Business. Also the features of Visual animation such as Zoom and Morph will help in polishing to the PowerPoint presentations. The updates to usability, security, voice and IT manageability will be provided by the Server enhancements.
